Luzia Ernst, born in Duderstadt, was first introduced to music with recorder and piano. In 2019, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, while being accompanied by Barbara Pfeffer in the artistic major of singing. Currently, the mezzo-soprano is completing her education with a focus on Voice Performance at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar in the class of Marietta Zumbült. Institut of the University of Duisburg-Essen, including at the Leipzig Book Fair, as well as for Suhrkamp Verlag. Striving for new connections between word and sound, the spoken word also plays a major role in her current work on intermedial concepts with the Duo Cantarpa and as a guest on Bauhaus Radio. As a soloist, she regularly performs in chamber music ensembles and has participated in vocal ensembles such as Ensemble miXtur, Folkwang Vokalensemble and Ensemble Vollklang. She gained further musical experience through master classes, including with Brigitte Fassbaender. Since February 2020, she has been a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin-Live Music Now Weimar Association.
